The 304/316 custom SS construction also incorporates features like a riveted panel joining system, formed and welded SS sheet metal framing, specialized coatings for gas burners and other key components to prevent corrosion and premature failures while operating within harsh environments. Every single element, no matter how big or small is vital to the unit’s integrity. From the large fans down to the nuts and bolts; each component plays a key role in the unit’s structural integrity as the unit will only be as strong as its weakest link. It is for those reasons that Bousquet Applied has taken special design considerations that include fans, motors, belt guards, springs mounts, sensors, wiring, dampers, actuators, gas manifold, Heat exchangers, hinges, handles, brackets, windowsills, access ladders, disconnect switch, nuts & bolts, etc.
One major factor when comparing potash and waste water environments, is the fact that hydrogen sulfide gas is relatively welcoming to aluminium surfaces. This allows the use of epoxy coated aluminum plate heat exchangers (HX) which maximize energy recovery without the fear of premature corrosion.
The aluminum HX selected for the application garners 65.7% sensible effectiveness and up to 78.8% latent effectiveness. This relatively high effectiveness will tremendously reduce the requirements of natural gas used for heating the space as the units will be operating 24/7.
The estimated annual savings of natural gas is 17,733 m3 (638,000 ft3) per unit.
This amounts to a carbon footprint reduction of 3,898 Tons of CO2 on an annual basis for the project!
